My life as a photographer, a mom, and so much more...
My last post was November 2012. I didn't officially make a resolution to not blog anymore, it was simply a case of laziness and craziness in my life. Since my last post, I completed 2012 Holiday sessions, shot one wedding, many portrait, family and mini sessions, I opened my home studio (It's amazing to work in!) My ex visited us at Christmas and again at Easter. I've done one bridal expo, booked 5 weddings for this year (my goal is 9 more, remember to refer me to your friends!). I joined BeMore Photography (www.facebook.com/BeMorePhotography) as a contributing photographer, my first mission is May 4th and really looking forward to that! I've had a session published on line, and 2 more are scheduled to be published in November. I dated someone, broke up with him soon after...painted and rearranged my bedroom. My daughter turned 11, my 5 year old has lost 2 teeth, and my 8 year old is kicking butt on his lax team!
There's the brief summary for those of you who are interested.
Now, things that I've learned...time goes by too quickly. If you're truly passionate about something, you have to do it everyday to ensure happiness. Patience is something I don't have enough of. My daughter is THE most beautiful living thing I've ever met. Boys need a man in their life. (No, I'm not asking for volunteers. My dad and dad friends in the neighborhood have done a stellar job helping me and being good role models for my kids.) I've also learned that there's so much more to learn about photography, and as long as I continue to learn with each session, I'll never tire of it!
I'm also so appreciative to each and every client I've had over the past 3 1/2 years. They've made my journey an easy one. Thank you.
Below are a few photos from the past few months that I've fallen in love with...enjoy...

Ashley and Greg!
I remember when I first found out Ashley had gotten engaged. I think it was on Facebook...Ashley is a friend and a past sitter for my kids. Always very upbeat, yet stern, which is exactly what my kids needed when we had her! I love Ashley. I wrote a message on her wall, I think, letting her know that I photograph weddings, feeling like it was a shot in the dark that she'd want to talk to me about it, but she did! And I couldn't have been happier about her and Greg coming to my house for dinner one night. The kids were running around, happy to see her, the boys giving craziness a new name with Greg...They hired me, and I was so honored to become a part of their special day! They went to settlement on their new house the week after these photos were taken. Funny how quickly things can move in your life isn't it? This was a beautiful day at William Paca Gardens in Annapolis. The lighting was just right, and I knew this session was going to be beautiful as I was there...Ashley and Greg are getting married in May. YEAH! I can't wait, guys! Enjoy yourselves and the holidays!

I was talking with Jack in the car this morning about how Christmas is so close, and he said that we already had Thanksgiving, but I let him know that Thanksgiving is next week. My heart jumped as soon as it came out of my mouth, because I know that once Thanksgiving passes, it seems to be a mad rush to the Christmas holiday...My mind is still back at Halloween, but my tired body feels like New Years lately...I've been very fortunate to have filled all of my mini session dates this year. If I say so myself, they've all been so successsful. I had one this morning, rescheduled from Hurricane Sandy, and the two boys were lovely, at least after I brought out the Smarties...I got some pretty good smiles!
This weekend is one of my busiest. I know I've said it before, but each weekend brings on more and more challenges. Juggling my sessions and my kids is bittersweet sometimes. I need to work, to pay for Christmas and the new/ used mini van (Goldie was on her last wheel, so I had to trade her in last week). On the other hand, I've been only doing what I have to get by with my kids and my house. Anna and I were up last night until 9:30 finishing a school project that was due today. We had a birthday dinner for Jack, and tomorrow is his party, a sleepover, of course. I still haven't made his cake. I'll get to that as soon as I finish writing this...
The point is, I want to slow things down. But I'm booked up until the 8th of December, with very few weekdates open in between. I don't even know what my kids want for Christmas...Joe's birthday is in 2 weeks...I think I just need to breathe more often. Is this happening to everyone else? You keep putting more and more on your plate, and when you take the time to pause, you realize how fast time is flying by you? I think if I breathed more, just took a moment, I'd be a happier and healthier person...Please take a breather while enjoying these photos from 2 sessions I had a couple of weeks ago...Enjoy...

Good evening! Have I mentioned lately how much I love my job? Well, I do, but I will say that this time of year gets really over whelming for me. Not only do I have tons of sessions, I have editing, galleries to upload, blogging to do, (which I still haven't gotten the hang of). I'm still waiting on my 3 newborns that are coming this month! Take your time Momma's! And to top it all off, 2 of my kids have birthdays this month! I have one turning 5 and the other turning 8. Both want sleepover parties! Do I ever say no? According to my kids, all the time. But it really doesn't feel like it...
The two sessions below are of a client and she purchased a session for her nanny, which I thought was so sweet. I'm a sucker for single mom's! Both kids were troopers and the sessions turned out to be lovely! Thanks for checking them out! Enjoy...
Good morning all! I've been up for way....too long already today, and believe it or not, I'm almost all caught up on editing...It's a good feeling, especially since I have 11 sessions coming up this next week! My poor kids...They've been eating so much pasta and pizza lately...Anna told me the other day, she just wants a burger...I'll have to make that happen soon...
This mornings photos are from one of my mini sessions last weekend. It was at Patapsco State Park before Hurricane Sandy hit...It's of 2 little girls I get to see every day at our bus stop. One who normally sticks her tongue out at me when I chase her. I actually got her to smile for me a few times at our session. The other I was able to talk into wearing her pink cowgirl boots...success! They were both a joy to photograph! Enjoy...
